Sorry I haven’t updated in a while. In the time that I have spent not updating my blog, I registered for my USA Triathlon annual membership. Albeit a bit late, I think the value will add up to the race fees I’d end up paying for the next 4 or so races I have to register for.
TriRock: Asbury Park is on my list of races to do next, and then I have 3 consecutive race weekends planned for September. I don’t know if that’s a good idea or not, but I’m willing to hear your opinion on the subject of doing consecutive races in such a manner.
In addition to these fun things, I had a firefighter training day last week during which I got good and sweaty. On the way home, the vent for the fire engine’s air conditioning\fan was blowing on my head. Within the next couple days I started up with a sore throat, congestion, and sneezing. Turns out I gave myself a summer cold. I had not worked out for a couple days beforehand and I’m going on a bit over a week now without training. There’s a bit over a couple weeks until TriRock so I think I’ll be OK. I should be able to get some training in before the race.
Before I got sick I managed a couple training sessions. I did a 3.3 run mile all over my town in 28m 22s, a 7.4mi bike ride also in 28m 22s before a thunderstorm, and a 600yd swim in 9m 16s (swimming time only). Wish I could swim that fast in my races, but I think taking rest breaks helps my time.
That’s all I have for now. Catch you later!
